Accreditation
Pilates instructor qualifications, explained honestly
What our accreditation is, what it means for where you can teach, and how to compare any provider without the marketing.
Is The Pilates Programme accredited?
Our courses are internationally accredited by ITTAP through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). The Pilates Programme is a CIMSPA Training Partner. Accreditation tells a studio that the course content, hours and assessment meet an external standard. Our graduates teach in boutique studios, gyms, community venues and their own businesses.

Your career
What does it mean for where you can teach?
Our graduates teach in boutique studios, for private clients, in their own classes and internationally. Employers look for a recognised accreditation, practice hours and the ability to teach well in a trial class. Our training is built around all three.

Choosing a Pilates course: questions to ask any provider
Including us. The answers tell you more than any badge.
How many hours are in person, with a trainer in the room?
Online modules are useful. They are not the same as being corrected while you teach a real body. Ask for the number of in-person days and the cohort size.
How big is the cohort?
Twenty students and one trainer means little individual coaching. Ask how many students each trainer works with.
Are exams and certification included in the price?
Some providers charge extra for assessment, resits or the certificate. Ask for the all-in figure.
What support do you get for practice hours and after the course?
Ask how observation and practice teaching hours are supported, whether you can hire studio space, and what happens after you qualify.
Which traditions do they teach?
Some courses teach one style. Ask whether you will learn Contrology, Classical and Contemporary repertoire so you can work in any studio.
