Why the hours matter
The hours are the reason studios trust our graduates. Anyone can learn a sequence in a weekend. Teaching real bodies, watching experienced teachers and studying the theory is what makes you employable.
The three types of hours
- 30 observation hours. Watch classes at a local studio, at our centre, or online through the video library.
- 25 personal study hours. Your own practice, the manual and the online platform.
- 25 practice teaching hours. Teach friends, family, fellow students or a studio that will have you.
A realistic week
Four hours of observation, three of study, three of teaching. Two evenings and a Saturday morning covers it.
Weeks 1 to 2
Observation heavy. Book onto classes and watch how teachers cue and manage a room.
Weeks 3 to 5
Start teaching short sections to friends. Keep observing. Begin exam revision.
Weeks 6 to 8
Teach full 45-minute classes. Hire studio space at the centre if you need a room and equipment. Book your practical exam.
